Chris had his kidney transplant from his father in December 2021, following 7 months of dialysis. He was part of a ground-breaking transplant trial where he received his own transplant regulatory cells five days post-transplant – he is one of only 50 patients worldwide to receive this treatment. Chris is an army veteran and fought in Iraq. He swam in the army swimming team and is also a qualified personal trainer. From just under a month after his transplant Chris was walking 3-4 miles a day and is preparing to compete in both the British and European Transplant Games. Chris competed in the swimming, representing Team GB at the European Games and Oxford in the British Games.
